Baden Rose Days - Adorable Queen of Flowers
30,000 roses in full bloom await you in the spa town Baden.
The unique smell of roses is in the air in Baden for the whole month of June. The pretty Biedermeier town is home to Austria’s biggest rosarium and therefore celebrates the blooming queen of flowers every year in June with concerts, guided tours and flower arranging workshops.
A tunnel made of roses
The Baden Rose Days open on 5 June with a day full of activities for kids and grownups. In the huge and picturesque Doblhoffpark, which is home to the Rosarium, there will be a market, musical performances and, as a grand finale, the first day of the Rose Festival, a wonderful evening show with music, dance, acrobats and large fireworks. The visitor can experience a broad range of events and attractions around the rose until the end of June. For example, you can enjoy the expert guided tours of the rosarium, experience musical fragrance walks or just listen to diverse concerts. The traditional Open Air Rose Ball, this year held on 19 June, marks the end of the festival.
Feast for the eyes
Just a few figures: 30,000 rosebushes are planted within 175 flowerbeds on 18.5 acres of land. More than 600 species of roses open their blooms in June and again in October. This rosarium is located within the Doblhoffpark, which used to be part of the Schloss Weikersdorf castle grounds and is now open to the public.
