Brief description

The North-South axis far into the country

The EuroVelo 9 is part of the European long-distance cycling network the Baltic Sea with the Adriatic. On the way from Gdańsk to Pula about 180 km run through Lower Austria, first quiet by the Weinviertel (section Vienna - Brno), then through Vienna, then enjoyable through the thermal springs region (Thermenradweg (bike path) and alternatively the Triestingau-bike path) and finally is a little more demanding along the Thermenradweg (bike path).

South of Vienna leads the Thermenradweg (bike path) - Nomen est Omen - through thermal springs and gradually rises then South of Wiener Neustadt, where it gradually continues into our Styrian neighbours still as the Thermenradweg (bike path).

The Thermenradweg (bike path)

For cyclists with a fine sense of enjoyment is this region a tempting territory, and it opens up the legendary wine country in a very comfortable way. On flat paths, the path goes from the outskirts of Vienna through the sun-spoiled region. Always at a glance: the rolling hills on the Southeast edge of the Vienna Woods, an area where the wine thrives exceptionally well.

The thermal springs region is a very exquisite new area for wine. The route is promising and yet pleasantly flat: one remains in the Valley, but always has a look at the gentle hills on the edge of the Wienerwald (forest). Finally, the route continues through the Pittental (valley) and climbs into past the styrian borders where it disappears. The varied experience can be designed very individually with the option of comfortable rail connection.
