Farmhouse-Museum "Ablaß"

Museum

Description

The Altbauernhaus Ablaß is situated on the "Hochreit" plateau at 832 m above sea level in the middle of the nature and landscape conservation area not far from the raised bogs.

On this 300-year-old farm, the Zettel family runs a rustic snack station and a farm museum. On the ground floor there are comfortably furnished parlours with tiled stoves. In the kitchen the equipment, the tiled stove from 1925 and the bread oven for the delicious wood stove bread are still fully in use. The museum rooms extend over the upper and attic floors. The living and sleeping facilities around 1900 are presented. The large amount of equipment and furnishings in the courtyard show the craftsmanship of the past. There is also a meat elk in the attic, which is still in use.

In the summer you can visit the museum by appointment as part of a guided tour!
