Wachauer Marille
Model garden
Description
Anyone who tastes apricots from different regions will immediately recognize the special nature of the Wachau apricot. The reasons for this are the unmistakable climate, the soil and, above all, the combination of different climates. The associated temperature differences between day and night, especially during the ripening phase, have a direct influence on the taste, aroma and content of the fruit. This is why apricots are in such high demand and now enjoy EU protection as a term and product.
When buying apricots and apricot products, it is worth looking out for the "Original Wachau Apricot" seal of quality. This should be recognizable on the colourful stands on both banks of the Danube on information flags as well as on the parasols and sales cartons.
The member businesses of the Wachau Apricot Association are also marked with "Hoftafeln" signs and the seal of quality.
Information about the Rossatz-Arnsdorf Apricot Mile is available at the information point in the Salettl in Oberarnsdorf or at the Vinothek in Rossatzbach. www.marillenmeile.at
