Raasdorf train station

Train station

Description

Raasdorf station is located in the middle of the municipality of Pysdorf in the Lower Austrian district of Gänserndorf; the station's namesake municipality itself is less than 2 kilometres away. The large reception building forms the nostalgic backdrop to the station, which was rebuilt and revitalised in 2020 and designed to be barrier-free throughout. Glazed waiting areas, an installed ticket vending machine on site, as well as digital train destination displays offer rail passengers plenty of contemporary comfort and a relaxed arrival and departure. The island platform can be reached safely via an underpass, and almost 70 parking spaces for cars and mopeds were created in the course of the conversion, making it all the easier to change to public transport by train.

Route information

  • The Raasdorf stop is on the route of the Marchegger Ostbahn.
  • Trains to the main station in Vienna and to Marchegg, as well as further to Bratislava are served here.

At the gates of Vienna

The "vegetable village" Raasdorf is the last stop before reaching the capital of Austria. Not only the close connection to Vienna, but also the extensive region with its numerous cycling and walking paths make this small community a worthwhile destination for an excursion. For example, the Danube Cycle Path Marchfeld Canal can be reached in just 15 minutes by bike from Raasdorf station, making for a particularly impressive bike tour that leads through the vegetable garden of Austria along the Marchfeld to fascinating castles and offers plenty of viewing spots.
