Hirschhorn- und Dirndlhandwerkskunst Engelbert Groiss

Farm shops / producer

Description

What would the Pielach Valley be without its dirndls? Of course, "Dirndln" doesn't just mean the young ladies and beautiful traditional dresses, but above all the cornelian cherries (aka "Dirndln"), which are widespread in the region and are harvested by hand by the people of Pielachtal and processed into delicious gourmet products and creative craftsmanship.

Engelbert Groiss has made it his mission to refine dirndl kernels and dirndl wood into real pieces of jewelry. He lovingly handcrafts unique dirndl core necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rosaries. Whether natural or red lacquered, combined with (wooden) pearls, shells or Swarovski stones - the selection is diverse. The jewelry looks particularly beautiful with a dirndl dress, but can also be combined well with jeans and a T-shirt. Engelbert Groiss also makes everyday items from everything the dirndl bush has to offer.

In addition to his love of dirndls, the retired Kirchberger also works as a stag horn carver. In addition to ornate buttons for traditional costumes, he also handcrafts stag poles with grappa or schnapps glasses.

The handicrafts and jewelry can be purchased directly from Engelbert Groiss on site in Kirchberg an der Pielach (by telephone appointment). Other points of sale are the Steinschalerhof regional store (Rabenstein an der Pielach), the Fuxsteiner dirndl manufactory and the Bachinger ice cream café (both in Kirchberg an der Pielach). Engelbert Groiss' works of art are of course also a must at the Pielachtal Dirndlkirtag at the end of September, the annual festival in honor of the Dirndl fruit with thousands of guests. It is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the diverse world of dirndls and, last but not least, to wear the beautiful dirndl jewelry.
