An Overview of the Congress Funding Programme

The Lower Austria Congress Funding Programme provides financial support from the Province of Lower Austria for scientific conferences with at least 50 participants. Eligible events must take place in Lower Austria and generate a minimum of 80 overnight stays in the region.

Applying is easy:

Simply complete the congress funding application form, attach a budget overview, and email both documents to convention@noe.co.at.

Subsidy Guidelines & Administration

Funding is available for conferences, meetings or symposia held in Lower Austria which …

• ... are of a scientific or educational nature.
• ...have at least 50 participants (excluding accompanying persons).
• ...generate overnight stays, with at least 80 overnight stays in a commercial accommodation establishment in the province of Lower Austria (including accompanying persons).
• NEW: an additional € 500 for events certified as ‘Green Events’ under Austrian Ecolabel 62

The application may be submitted either by the conference organiser or by a PCO appointed by the organiser at least one month prior to the start of the event.

Extent of subsidization

The more overnight stays your event generates in the province of Lower Austria, the higher the level of funding. The subsidy amount ranges from € 1,500.00 to € 3,000.00.

After the conference, it is the organiser’s responsibility to provide written proof of the overnight stays, for example a confirmation from the hotel.
