Saffen station

A train station in Lower Austria's Mostviertel region could hardly be more idyllic. The small bus shelter at the Saffen stop in the village of the same name north of the district capital Scheibbs offers cozy seating as well as the right ambience for the fantastic scenery that the Eisenwurzen region has to offer.

Route information

The Saffen stop is located on the Erlauftalbahn line, which originally ran as far as Kienberg-Gaming but has now been running from Pöchlarn to Scheibbs since the end of 2010.

There are local buses to Waidhofen an der Ybbs, Scheibbs and Gresten

Scheibbs Ceramics Museum

Just a 10-minute walk from the train station, you can discover a real insider tip for museum art: the Scheibbs Ceramics Museum. Exhibits collected over decades, not only from the Scheibbs ceramics works, are lovingly displayed and include more than 2,500 exhibits. And if you want to have a coffee with the owners, you can enjoy numerous entertaining stories.
