Description
More than 20 million guests have already visited the former gypsum mine on the outskirts of Vienna.
The eventful history of the Seegrotte, from the early days of mining through the dark years of the Second World War, when one of the German Wehrmacht's largest covert aircraft production facilities was housed in the extensive tunnels, continues to fascinate young and old to this day.
The fascinating underground world of the Seegrotte, a mysterious labyrinth of tunnels and underground passages and Europe's largest underground lake, where a romantic boat trip reveals unique reflections, leaves unforgettable impressions.
The Seegrotte Hinterbrühl is one of the most interesting sights in Austria and has been very popular with visitors of all ages for almost 100 years.
The show mine is open all year round and is a unique experience whatever the weather. Due to its unique location just 20 minutes from Vienna and its close proximity to the Babenberg town of Mödling and the winegrowing region around Baden and Gumpoldskirchen, the Seegrotte Hinterbrühl is the perfect excursion destinations at any time of year.
