Declaration on accessibility

Niederösterreich-Werbung GmbH is committed to making its websites accessible.

This accessibility statement applies to the following websites: www.niederoesterreich.at, tourismus.niederoesterreich.at, convention.niederoesterreich.at,
gruppenreisen.niederoesterreich.at, magazin.niederoesterreich.at, www.gesund-bleiben.at

1. Status of compliance with the requirements

These websites are partially compliant with conformance level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - WCAG 2.2" or with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) according to Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 17, 2019 on accessibility requirements for products and services due to the following incompatibilities / exceptions.

2. Non / partially accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons

a. Non-conformities with Accessibility Regulations / Disproportionate Burden

  • PDF and Word documents (especially older documents) used on the websites are not accessible. If you require content from one of our PDF or Word documents, please contact us. We will do our best to provide you with the information in a alternative format.
  • The videos used on our websites are currently not accessible. The adaptation represents a disproportionate burden in terms of accessibility regulations. We will endeavor to make new videos accessible.
  • Some images do not have optimally chosen alternative texts. We are working on making all images with alternative texts accessible for screen reader users. Editors are being sensitized and trained accordingly.
  • We endeavor to write our texts largely without abbreviations and foreign words. We also avoid complex sentence structures. If you find a text difficult to understand and therefore only partially accessible, please contact us. We will try to provide a simplified version.
  • Lists such as accommodation lists, event lists, gastronomy lists, POI lists (excursion destinations), offer lists and location and region lists are based on structured data from our tourism database and are currently only partially accessible.
  • The layout of the websites has been adapted to the display interfaces of the respective end devices. By setting the "viewport" <meta> tag to "maximum-scale=1", a zoom function is prevented. Fixing this would have a serious impact on the display of the layout.
  • On several pages there are 'iframe' elements without labels.
  • On some pages there are links without link text.
  • The visual display of text and images containing text does not always have the required minimum contrast ratio. (apart from the exceptions provided for in the regulations, e.g. for logos)

We are continuously working to resolve these accessibility issues.

b. Content Outside the Scope of Applicable Legislation

  • Recorded time-based media, such as video and audio media, published before June 28, 2025, is not covered by current regulations.
  • Interactive maps are currently not accessible. However, you will find the information from the map accessible on our website.
  • Third-party content: Our websites are partly based on the content of a decentralized tourism database. Our content partners are required to provide texts and media in an accessible form. However, no statement can be made regarding the compatibility of this third-party content with accessibility regulations.

3. Creation of the accessibility statement

This declaration was created on June 10, 2025.

The declaration is based on a self-assessment conducted by Niederösterreich-Werbung GmbH in accordance with WCAG 2.2 and the Austrian Federal Act on the Equal Treatment of Persons with Disabilities (BaFG).
