In Retzer Land, at the foot of the idyllic vineyard beneath the famous windmill of Retz, lies a gem - the Althof. Once the founding point of the town as a castle, today as a country estate & spa it offers the ideal setting for a break in Retzer Land.
The VinoSPA offers a new dimension of well-being: Awarded 1 lily in the Relax Guide, it offers wellness at a high level on 5 levels, idyllically nestled between vineyards and 700-year-old castle walls. The highlight is the infinity pool on the roof, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the landmarks of Retz - the windmill and the Retz town hall tower - at a pleasant water temperature of around 30°C.
With the Gebietsvinothek Retzer Land, the Althof offers another unique feature and the largest regional variety of winegrowers in Lower Austria. 250 wines from 80 winegrowers can be tasted and taken home at farm-gate prices.
To round off an enjoyable stay, there is of course excellent cuisine and comfortable hotel rooms. The spacious winegrowers' rooms with a smart regional design and a private wine cabinet filled with the fine wines of the respective winery are top of the range.
