Leisurely hike from Unternberg near St. Corona to the Simashütte at the former chairlift.
Description
The Simashütte is located at 940 meters above sea level directly on the Untersberg. Here you can enjoy the sunny location and the wonderful view into the valley. Previously, the hut was located directly at the chairlift, but since its removal, it is no longer continuously operated. In May and August, it transforms for ten days each into a Mostheuriger (cider tavern); at other times of the year, it can be rented for private and corporate events with groups of 15 or more. On foot, the hut can be reached in about an hour. The starting point is a district of St. Corona. In Unternberg, there are numerous places to stop for refreshments before the hike. There is also a bus stop right at the starting point. Starting from St. Corona is also possible, either first walking along the main road to Unternberg or choosing one of the hiking trails over the "mountain." The Bella Weg, an adventure trail with special stations for children, is recommended for families.

Route description Hike to the Simashütte (from Unterberg)
From the starting point at Gasthof Fahrner, we walk a short distance towards St. Corona and then turn left onto Unternberg Street. This takes us past the Dissauer farm to a fork in the road, where we turn left. The path leads to a trail which we follow to another fork, where we turn left. After about 300 meters, we turn right again. Shortly after, we reach a T-junction where we turn left onto the path. Now we go downhill and follow the trail to the right to the road that leads us to the Simashütte.
Directions
From Vienna, take the A2 South Motorway, exit at Edlitz. Drive towards Aspang. Continue on Wechsel Straße/B54 to Aspang. Take the third exit at the roundabout (Gutenberggasse). Turn right onto Bahnstraße. Slight right onto Mühlgasse, which gently curves right and becomes Sonneck. Continue on L137 to Unternberg.
From Graz, take the A2 South Motorway, exit at Aspang. Drive towards Aspang/Zöbern. Turn left onto L137 and follow it to Aspang. Turn right onto Hauptplatz, then immediately left onto Gottsbergergasse. Turn left onto Mühlgasse, which gently curves right and becomes Sonneck. Continue on L137 to Unternberg.

Take the regional train from Wr. Neustadt main station (direction Aspang-Markt) to the final stop. Then continue with regional bus 1762 (direction Kirchberg Wechsel Hotel). Get off at the Unternberg Gasthof Fahrner stop.
