Route description Hochberg route

From the sports ground you first ride past the Heart-Circulation Center and the Pletzen settlement towards Hypolz. From the climb after the town, the so-called Powder Tower, there is a beautiful view back to Groß Gerungs.

In Hypolz, you head towards the federal road, continue via the bike path to the Kitzler sawmill, then turn right through an idyllic part of the Kogl forest and past the kindergarten to the roundabout.

Below the Haider guesthouse, turn into the field path and after a rapid descent you reach the federal road towards Weitra. After a few meters, turn towards Böhmsdorf and follow the Zwettl along to St. Jakob. After a steep climb you reach the village of Thail. Continue towards Groß Gerungs to the first hill (Opferstein parking lot – Kraftarena). Here the ride turns right up to the highest point of the route, the Hochberg, with very beautiful views of the magnificent landscape surrounding the town of Groß Gerungs.

After a nice descent, you reach Kasbach in a few minutes and subsequently Harruck. From here, the route passes narrow, gently rolling fields and meadows to Klein Reinprechts and after a short climb returns to the starting point at the sports ground area.
