Route description Oed - Öhling circular hiking route

The Oed-Öhling circular hiking route can be started from either Oed or Öhling. If the market town of Oed is chosen as the starting point, you should visit the charming church located next to the baroque parsonage. The late baroque building was donated by Count Daun after the Battle of Kolin, but the plans created by master builder Trientl were apparently intended and confused for a church building in Hungary. The harmoniously appearing interior is equipped with a beautiful late baroque altar, remarkable figures, and a rococo pulpit. From the Oed church, you hike westward past the water reservoir, across federal road 1 on a field path to Buchleiten, and past the hamlet Ramsau to Rohra in the Haabergwald forest. Here you can turn left back to Oed (shortened circular hike of 8 km) or follow the markings to Öhling. In the Haabergwald forest, Aschbach is reachable via a charming forest path. However, the circular hiking route continues via Ebersedt to Öhling. The parish church in Öhling contains a Gothic core, but the current tower was only built in 1914. The church is equipped with a late baroque altar. Noteworthy is the beautiful baroque parsonage. From Öhling you can hike via the Urltal valley to Amstetten or past the baroque plague column to Ludwigsdorf-Zeillern; this path connects to the Mostviertler circular hiking route. Via Krottendorf and Kreuzing there is the possibility of a shortened circular hike back to Öhling (about 9 km). However, the marking continues to Oed, where there is a connection to the Wallsee-Sindelburg hiking trail network.
