Brief description

Hiking starting in Nußdorf past vineyards and orchards with a wonderful panoramic view of the Alpine foothills, the Weinviertel, and Tullnerfeld. Refreshment options are available at inns or Heurige.

Description

A beautiful, comfortable short hiking trail with a variety of landscapes to see. Inns and Heurige invite you to stop. Farm gate sales of wine (Traisental wine region), fruit juices (Traisen Valley fruit juice enjoyment region), and much more are offered. Benches and tables for refreshment are available at Parapluiberg. Also ideal with children, as our hiking trails mostly lead through open terrain.

Route description Parapluiberg

Starting from Nußdorf, the path leads uphill through vineyards and orchards to the viewpoint at Parapluiberg. From here you have a magnificent panoramic view over the Traisen Valley to the foothills of the Alps or also to the Danube Valley and Tullnerfeld. The return is by the same path. Upon reaching the starting point, various Heurige or inns are recommended to refresh yourself. Purchasing wine or fruit juices from the many top producers is also possible, with information available at the starting point of your hike.

The hiking trail is marked with yellow signs according to the Lower Austria hiking trail concept "Parapluiberg".

Via the A1 motorway and the S33 to Nußdorf ob der Traisen – Exit “Traismauer South”

Parking

In front of the municipal office in Nußdorf or in Reichersdorf in front of the church.

By train to Traismauer or Herzogenburg and then by bus to Nußdorf ob der Traisen.

By bus from Vienna via Traismauer or from St. Pölten.

Safety information

Suitable hiking shoes are recommended.

Don't forget your camera! Take your time and enjoy winding down the hike at one of the inns or many Heurige. To continue enjoying the hike at home, it is advisable to take a supply of wines or fruit juices with you.
