The trail section is groomed in classic and skating style.

Description

The entire Wechsel panoramic trail lies at over 1,000 meters altitude. This guarantees not only wonderful panoramic views of Schneeberg, Rax, Wechsel and the surrounding regions but also high snow reliability. Provided there is enough snow for grooming, the trail is groomed from early December to the end of March and runs through varied terrain, also dividing into smaller circuit sections.

Route description Wechsel panoramic trail: entry GH Kummerbauerstadl

The trailhead is located at GH Kummerbauer. From here it starts hilly, the last 5 km to Feistritzsattel are mostly flat and well suited for beginners. On the route, there is a junction to GH Dissauer (trail no. 13). On the left side, you can see the mountain station of the Feistritzsattel drag lift; in the last meters, there is a chapel on the right side until you reach the destination, Feistritzsattel. From here, it goes back to the starting point.

Directions

From Vienna: A2 and S6 to the exit Gloggnitz - Höllental Straße (B27) - L134 to Otterthal - turn right onto L175 to Trattenbach - follow the road (approx. 10 km) to Feistritzsattel.

From Graz: S35 to Bruck an der Mur - S6 to exit Gloggnitz - L134 to Otterthal - turn right onto L175 to Trattenbach - follow the road (approx. 10 km) to Feistritzsattel.

From Graz: A2 - exit Gleisdorf - B64 to Weiz - then B72 towards Birkfeld to Ratten - then on L407 via Rettenegg to Feistritzsattel

The Feistritzsattel entry point is not accessible by public transport.

Take the train to Gloggnitz station, from there take bus 366 or 367 (direction Kirchberg am Wechsel) to Otterthal (GH Rottensteiner), then transfer to bus 368 (direction Trattenbach). From there, take a taxi to the Feistritzsattel entry point.

Equip yourself according to the season (cross-country ski equipment, winter-proof clothing). Take a trail map (available at the entry points) and your mobile phone with you and save the emergency number of mountain rescue: 140

TRAIL LIABILITY

The cross-country skiing and winter sports club expressly points out that use is at your own risk and that any responsibility and liability is excluded. No particular condition of the cross-country trail is guaranteed. Service vehicles and trail grooming machines may also be on the trail during operating hours. Furthermore, it is expressly pointed out that no trail inspection takes place in the evening.

TRAIL USAGE REGULATIONS

The trail is subject to a fee; tickets can be obtained at the cash desks directly at the entry to the trail network. Controls are carried out on the trail by officials of the cross-country skiing and winter sports club. These officials are authorized to collect fees! If a valid usage ticket cannot be presented during a check, the official is entitled to immediately collect €15.00. Children up to 15 years have free admission.Observe the signs at the entry points and along the trail and do not leave the cross-country skiing track.The trail track must be used on the right side throughout.Please observe all forestry and hunting notices. Respect marked wildlife and restricted areas and do not enter them, as the animals need peace as well.Dogs are not allowed on the trail, not even on a leash, as the entire trail runs through forest and hunting areas.Do not litter; carry your rubbish back home.The trail is NOT groomed during snowfall or strong winds.Never go alone in high alpine terrain, always in groups. In case of accidents, please provide the exact position number of the marking signs where you are located, as well as your name and mobile number. This significantly facilitates the coordination of rescue operations.

There is no guarantee that the entire trail network will be available when purchasing a VIP card or trail ticket.
