Route description Weltkugel hiking route no. 31

The path goes down into the Zwettl valley and to the scattered settlement Ober Rosenauerwald, where the Peace Chapel is located. From there, you walk along the state road and over a driveway to the turnoff towards Weltkugel. The Weltkugel, an object of the Kraftarena Groß Gerungs, is a rounded hard stone with a diameter of seven meters and a weight of 500 tons, which resembles a globe in its shape. On the way there, you will learn interesting facts about the theme "forest community" on the nature experience trail. After that, you continue along the forest road and, after a short hike, reach Wurmbrand and then Böhmsdorf. Nearby is the Kierlingstein, which can be visited via a short path. The return route leads via Thail and past the Opferstein back to Groß Gerungs.
