Details for: Weningersteig - Puchberg am Schneeberg

Brief description

The comfortable circular hike on the Weningersteig leads along the foot of the Schneeberg and through the Nandlgraben.

Description

The Weningersteig circular hike leads over beautiful forest paths at the foot of the Schneeberg and offers unique views. From Losenheim you walk over the meadow, which becomes a ski slope in winter, up to the Edelweiss Hut. Those who want to take it easy can also cover this stretch with the Schneeberg chairlift. Up at the Edelweiss Hut, you have a view from the terraces that reaches down into the valley to Puchberg and as far as Lake Neusiedl. A stop here is definitely worthwhile as you are spoiled culinarily. Well strengthened, you then hike over the Nandlboden past the Lahning Ries and the Nandlgrat. Over the romantic forest paths, you finally reach the Ferdinand Bürkle Hut, where a mountain mass is held every year. From here you have an impressive view of the Breite Ries. A few hundred meters further down, you then return on a mountain hiking trail to Losenheim.
