Details for: Wine experience route around Hollabrunn
Brief description
The wine experience route around Hollabrunn begins in the town of the same name, where you can already walk in the "footsteps of the cellar cat" at the start, before exploring the surroundings from the height of the Wullersdorf parish church or enjoying a glass of wine in the wine cellar lane of Schöngrabern.
Description
The wine experience route around Hollabrunn starts and ends in the district capital itself and leads through many municipalities nestled between the Locatelli Forest and the Ernstbrunn Forest – the largest mixed oak forest in Central Europe. Just a proverbial "stone's throw" from the center of Hollabrunn, you have the opportunity to walk in the "footsteps of the cellar cat" through the Sitzendorf wine cellar lane and then test your skills in the motor skills park. North of Hollabrunn, there are many special places and sites to discover. One of them is the wine cellar lane in Schöngrabern, which in the summer months not only attracts many visitors to its 70 cellars but also serves as a refuge for some migratory birds. Another gem is the parish church of Wullersdorf, which, perched on a hill, was consecrated as early as 1108. Those who want to dive further into the past can learn a lot about the settlement history of the region at the prehistoric circular ditch of Immendorf before enjoying a final glass of wine in the wine cellar lane of Nappersdorf-Kammersdorf.
