Bogensport Waldviertel

Archery, Outdoor adventure

Description

The municipality of Dorfstetten in the southern Waldviertel offers enjoyment of nature, peace and relaxation. It is also home to the first year-round 3D course in the Waldviertel - a true paradise for archery enthusiasts.

In the middle of the 14-hectare Yspertaler Hochwald forest, archers can put their marksmanship to the test at 30 sculptures. A bow rental service is available for those who spontaneously decide to try their hand at archery, and a short training session can be booked in advance. The course starts with 6 arrows in the quiver and takes about 3-4 hours, depending on stamina and marksmanship.

Archery is probably almost as old as the history of mankind itself. As far as archery equipment is concerned, it has little to do with what the uninitiated think of as a bow and arrow. Professional bows made of high-tech materials (e.g. ceramic, carbon), supplemented with a button, stabilizer and sight and up to 1.70 metres long, are used. The arrows are made of aluminum.
