Boulderturm Hollabrunn

Bike park, Climbing

Description

Since 2021, the area in Aumühlgasse has been growing year by year with the addition of another sports area. The largest facilities in terms of area are the skate park and the asphalt pump track. There is also a multisport court, a ball game cage for handball and basketball, including lighting for the evening hours. A large calisthenics facility allows you to train safely with your own weight, while a bouldering wall is the latest highlight for young and old.

Equipped with a rental station for various balls, a drinking fountain and a toilet facility, the versatile facility invites you to spend whole afternoons or evenings here. Creative hands can also let off steam on a spray wall.

Multisport
All ball sports that require a firm surface can be played outdoors here - the high fence all around prevents the ball from bouncing too far or even rolling onto the street.
Since June 2024, the SportToGo rental box has made it possible to use the courts spontaneously, as various sports equipment is now available in Hollabrunn: Basketballs, footballs and a table tennis set can be borrowed, all you have to do is register. After registering, you can use the "SportToGo" app to select the Hollabrunn box on the map and off you go! Rental is even free for all users in the first year!

Pump track
Pump tracks are circuits made of clay, earth or, as in Hollabrunn, asphalt, which are equipped with banked turns, waves and small jumps. If you ride over the hills, the bike is loaded and unloaded, which is known as "pumping". The Hollabrunn pump track has a beginners' oval, while the large circuit has a wide variety of waves and decent curves. The track is laid out in such a way that different lap designs are possible, so the ride remains action-packed and doesn't get boring even for experienced riders.
The great thing about the pump track is that it is suitable for all ages and abilities. Just start slowly and work your way up to the bigger bends and waves!

Bouldering tower
"Bouldering" - derived from the word "boulder" - is climbing without a rope or harness up to the so-called jump height. The jump height is the height from which you can jump from the wall to the ground without any significant risk of injury, usually no higher than four meters. The Hollabrunn Tower offers various routes for beginners and advanced climbers, both straight and with an overhang.

Calisthenics
In a calisthenics park, muscles and strength can be trained in the fresh air. Calisthenics is a full-body workout using your own weight that works all the muscles in the body. In order to be able to train efficiently and sensibly, the respective movement sequences are demonstrated at each station. In addition, the exercise descriptions can be viewed on a website via a QR code.

Calisthenics is a sport that combines elements of apparatus gymnastics and acrobatic exercises. In contrast to traditional strength training, calisthenics uses your own weight and focuses on inter-muscular coordination. Calisthenics parks are equipped with bars at different heights and positions, which are modeled on parallel bars and horizontal bars. Some of the equipment is also wheelchair accessible!

This calisthenics park was funded together with other facilities as part of a federal, state and EU LEADER project. Further facilities were built in
