Description

How did the iron museum come about? Easily explained

During his apprenticeship as a tailor, Eduard Kneidinger explains, he discovered a passion for irons and began collecting them. Over the years, around 200 irons have accumulated in the cellar. "I have an iron from practically every corner of the world," says Eduard Kneidinger. In fact, the oldest irons in his collection are from the Orient. "The so-called ironing pans are from the 17th century. There aren't many of them left," he explains.

Edi Kneidinger's collection of irons also includes some special features and rarities: He is particularly proud of an iron from New York, which he discovered during a trip to a flea market. Another rarity is an iron that was specially developed for ironing hat brims. There are also irons from China and some of the extremely rare oriental irons to be admired here.
Another special feature is the iron furnace from the 17th or 18th century, which was used to heat full core irons.

Visit this very impressive collection of irons from all over the world.
