Felsformationen bei Langschlag

Outdoor adventure

Description

Near Langschlag in the Waldviertel region, visitors can expect legendary rock formations that leave nothing to the imagination. The Devil's Mill in particular attracts numerous nature and hiking enthusiasts with its moss-covered rock formations and small waterfalls in a crevice. The mysterious place offers a fairytale setting in which the cool forest adds to the mystical flair.

If you want to explore the area, you can take the Langschlag stone hiking trail. The approximately twelve-kilometre-long, moderately difficult tour leads past the most beautiful rock formations, including the Teufelsmühle and the Kamelstein. You should plan around four hours for the hike to enjoy nature in peace. A detour into the pine forests is particularly worthwhile in summer: Blueberry bushes invite you to snack.

Legend has it that a mill once stood on the site of the Teufelsmühle. The devil lost a bet with the miller, went on a rampage and hurled rocks into the valley, which can still be seen today along the Elexenbach stream and in the Höllgraben ditch.

The region around Bruderndorf impresses with its varied landscape and idyllic rock formations. The Teufelsmühle in particular is easy to explore on hiking trails. Those arriving by train can use the Waldviertelbahn and discover the quiet, unspoiled places in the area along the way.

Teufelsmühle, Höllfall and Totenkopfstein offer pristine nature experiences and mysterious places that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the legendary world of the Waldviertel.
