Mountain summit

Description

At the portal to the Sierningtal Nature Park, the Gösing stretches 898 meters into the air. With a refuge and exciting caves, the mountain in the Gutenstein Alps is a popular destination.

Several marked hiking routes lead up to the Neunkirchner Naturfreundehaus - also called Flatzer Hütte. From the hut, it is possible to make a leisurely ascent to the summit. Here, magnificent views all the way to the Schneeberg await you.

Hiking trails on the Gösing

The Gösing can be easily hiked on two marked forest routes:

  • Ternitz - Kindwald - Gösing (summit).
  • Stixenstein, Flatz or Ternitz - Neunkirchner Hütte - Kranzstetten - Gösing (summit)

Other summit trails start in Würflach and Grünbach.

Extra tip: The Gösing is home to numerous fascinating caves - with just such names. Among others there are on the southern and western slope

  • the Warm Lucke,
  • the Komische Loch,
  • the Gösingkluft and
  • the Pechhäferlhöhle.
