holzARTbinder - Kunstwerke aus Holz

Handicraft

Description

Johann Binder's skillful hands create small works of art. The wood artist is also happy to pass on his knowledge during workshop tours and woodturning courses.

"Wood is my passion," explains Johann Binder. The Waldviertel craftsman's repertoire is almost inexhaustible. In his Arbesbach workshop, he creates wafer-thin flowers as well as gigantic decorative spheres or artistic vases and bowls - made of wood, of course, and turned to perfection by master craftsmen.

The trained carpenter learned woodturning in various courses, and at some point it became a vocation. And at the beginning of 2013, the Arbesbach native decided to set up his own one-man business and sell his lovingly crafted products. "I only use wood from Austria, preferably from the Waldviertel region," explains Binder. "Where we live, that's where we buy!" is his motto. You can look over his shoulder and see how a fascinating workpiece is created from a piece of wood. In addition to guided tours and workshop visits, taster courses are also offered during the "Waldviertler Handwerkstage" to try it out for yourself.
