Johannes-Nepomuk-Säule
Description
Where the pillory once stood, St. John's Column, the ornate statue of St. John of Nepomuk, was erected in 1722. He is the only saint other than Mary to be depicted with a wreath of stars. Above the richly decorated pedestal, adorned with stone vases and stone pines, rises a column of clouds adorned with putti heads, which supports the life-size statue. The medieval pillory was destroyed by a cyclone in 1711.
