Kellergasse am Beri

Cellar-lined roads

Description

The "Beri" wine cellar lane in Hanfthal can be traced back to 1720. Towards the end of the last century, most of the cellars were in poor condition and partially dilapidated. Extensive renovation work began in 1996. The Beri with the Beri-Hex was revitalized on the initiative of the village community. It is, for example, the venue for the Advent market "Advent am Beri". Since 2009, the new village cellar, which serves as a multifunctional cellar ensemble, has also been located at the foot of the Beri. The wine cellar lane is still used today for a wide variety of village festivals and consists of 64 small buildings, 24 of which are press houses with cellar tubes.

The unmistakable charm of the Weinviertel wine cellar lanes can be experienced most impressively on a guided tour.
This provides fascinating insights into their history and the former significance of these special places.
