Kirchengasse

Historical sites

Description

Kirchengasse leads from the town hall up to the parish church of St. Michael and, together with the adjoining Renaissance courtyards, is the jewel of Gumpoldskirchen. Strolling through this alley, you get the feeling that time has stood still here. The Renaissance houses, most of which were built in the 16th and 17th centuries, are now privately owned. Restaurants and wine taverns invite you to linger and enjoy the world-famous Gumpoldskirchner wines.
