Künstlergarten Wietzen
Museum, Outdoor adventure
Description
The unique "artist's garden" in Wietzen, in the municipality of Lichtenau in the Waldviertel, has a special charm.
Around 50 stone sculptures by the academic sculptor and Wotruba pupil Alfred Kurz can be admired in the artist's large, natural garden.
Expressive figures, busts, depictions of people and animals, sometimes combined with gargoyles, give the tree-covered area a unique appeal.
The majority of the nature-loving artist's works from three decades of his career have been preserved here.
Iron and wooden figures as well as paintings by Alfred Kurz can be found inside the farmhouse.
Buses and groups please book in advance.
