Description

Construction of the 2nd Vienna High Spring Water Pipeline began in 1906. Numerous springs were tapped in the Hochschwab region and since then their water has flowed to Vienna in a 170 km long pipeline. The city employed up to 11,200 men from all over the monarchy.

The water pipeline crosses the Jessnitz Valley in a 22m high and 271m long aqueduct.

Thanks to the special relationship between the manufacturer Pivonka and the mayor of Vienna, the most powerful aqueduct of the entire waterway was built here.
