Lunzberg
Mountain summit
Description
The 1,004-metre-high Lunzberg is located in the municipality of Lunz am See. From the summit, hikers can enjoy a view of the mountaineering village of Lunz am See with its numerous hiking routes.

Hike up the Lunzberg
From the village center, it is a half-hour walk to the summit cross at around 1,000 meters above sea level. Members of the rural youth have revitalized the site, installed new benches, repaired the paths and renovated the cross. In addition, a show beehive at the viewpoint offers exciting insights into the life of bees. A display board with lots of information was also set up here by the Lunz Beekeepers' Association.
Tips around the Lunzberg
- The highest point in the municipality is the 1,878 m high Dürrenstein. Other important peaks in and around Lunz am See are the Ötscher (1,893 m), Hochkar (1,808 m) and Maiszinken (1,075 m).
- Hikers can find refreshment in the crystal-clear Lunzer See, incidentally the only naturally formed lake in the province.
- In the summer months, visitors are offered a rich cultural program on the lake stage. The wellenklaenge festival leads the colorful series of events that transform the tranquil village into an interesting art and cultural center.
- The 55 km long heart of the Ybbstal Cycle Path is located between Waidhofen an der Ybbs and Lunz am See. This section is particularly suitable for families. Cycle along the Ybbs to the mountain lake in the midst of magnificent nature.
