Aussichtsturm am Schwarzenberg

Lookout tower

Description

In the Nordwald Großpertholz Nature Park, it is a real crowd-puller for hikers of all ages: the imposing viewing tower on the Schwarzenberg climbs 21 meters above the treetops of the surrounding conifers. At 960 m above sea level, visitors can look out over the extensive forest area on the edge of the Waldviertel highlands - with a hint of Scandinavia. In good weather, the view extends as far as the Ötscher. The tower is also accessible in winter.

The Nordwald Nature Park is a natural paradise for the whole family: dense coniferous forest, massive granite boulders, exciting sacrificial stones, high moors, ponds and angular ridges characterize the landscape. In addition to the adventurous observation tower, there is a playground, animal enclosure and numerous hiking and themed trails (such as the viewing trail) to discover.

Accessibility for hikers
Almost 130 km of signposted hiking and themed trails in the Nordwald Nature Park lead around the viewing tower on the Schwarzenberg.
