Description
Over 5000 exhibits from life in the village are on display. Old crafts from carpenters, wainwrights, locksmiths, blacksmiths, shoemakers, saddlers, tailors and a grocer's shop, viticulture and agriculture.
Also old motorcycles and mopeds from 1938 to 1970, cars, tractors and old bicycles, 100 years of radio history, gramophone, old school supplies, dolls, old toys, old movie and photo cameras. Café bar furnishings, pinball machine, jukebox, slot machines. Billboards, photos, bravos, magazines and fashionable clothing from the 1950s.
Found objects and documentation about the time of the monarchy and the 1st and 2nd World Wars. A visit takes you on a journey back in time to the 19th and 20th centuries.
In the outdoor area: Baking oven, clay brick production, smallest wine museum in Austria (experience sitting in a 90 bucket wine barrel), market coat of arms of Röschitz, nature in the garden, seating to rest and enjoy.
At the earth barn information point, the artificially constructed underground earth barns, whose purpose is still unknown today, are explained.
The secret can be studied with historical documents and a film showing of the Röschitz earth stables.
An extensive archive of old views and local customs of Röschitz are also on display. You will gain deep insights into times long past. During a guided tour through the exhibition, stories are told about the often hardship-filled life in the countryside.
The private museum is integrated into the Röschitz theme trail: Paths to wine. The hike is free of charge.
