Rindfleischberg

Scenic lookout

Description

The Rindfleischberg in the municipality of Klein-Pöchlarn is characterized by its special history as a former vineyard. As a result of extensive grassland use on the old wine terraces, species-rich meadows (especially dry meadows of all kinds) were created, which together with the variety of landscape elements (dry stone walls, loess walls, heat-loving bushes and fringes, etc.) form a very attractive landscape.

The charm of this old cultural landscape also has an effect on the local population, which is why the Rindfleischberg is also a popular recreational area. Due to the special habitats and the diversity of the landscape, the area is home to a large number of rare animal and plant species (e.g. green lizard, Easter lily butterfly, orchids). The landscape on the Rindfleischberg is therefore considered the heart of the “Strudengau-Nibelungengau” European nature reserve in terms of nature conservation.

Along the nature trail, you can “peer into the countryside” from several vantage points.

The Rindfleischerg is one of the treasures of the Nibelungengau. All other treasures full of enjoyment, variety and the best views can be discovered at www.nibelungengau.at!
