Description
The urk. The castle ruins, mentioned in 1108, were one of the most important on the Danube. An elongated multi-storey complex with a palace, two keeps, four courtyards and two kitchens, high chimneys and curtain walls. In 1870, large parts of the castle were demolished in order to use the material for the ultramarine factory at the foot of the castle rock.
