Schloss Kittsee

Castle

Description

Kittsee Castle, rebuilt in the Baroque style, is located on the edge of the town center, surrounded by an idyllic park. At the end of the 19th century, Prince Ladislaus Batthyány-Strattmann and his family moved into the castle, who went down in history as the "doctor of the poor". He also founded the Kittsee hospital, where he treated patients free of charge. In 1965, the castle became the property of the municipality of Kittsee.

Today, the castle has established itself as an important cultural site and hosts, for example, the concerts of the Pannonian Forum. The Kittssee municipal office and a restaurant are also located in the castle.

The castle also offers a unique backdrop for weddings or events and is often rented for this purpose.
