The SONNENWELT Großschönau offers fun, games and excitement for visitors of all ages. A multimedia trilingual exhibition in English, German or Czech on the subject of living with the power of the sun from nomadism to Egyptians and Romans to the future awaits you.
Experience history up close
A gripping 2,000 m² tour: from nomadic tents and settling down to the sophisticated techniques of the ancient Egyptians and Romans right up to the present day. A variety of exciting topics and tricky games to captivate young and old.
You are expressly encouraged to try out the numerous hands-on and play stations: generate kilowatt hours on the exercise bike, insulate yourself well with winter clothing for the thermal imaging camera, solve the riddle of the Egyptian burial chamber and much more awaits you.All guests, from 3 to 99 years old, are thrilled by the detailed realization and the variety of activities and information. The tour through 12 time zones offers something for everyone: whether history or technology, culture or adventure.
An excursion for the whole family
The youngest visitors in particular will find it hard to tear themselves away from the interactive hands-on stations in the exhibition and the extensive energy adventure playground outside. The Waldviertler-Schmankerl store and the café invite you to linger after an exciting day.
New special exhibition "The Powerchangers"
The new special exhibition* at SONNENWELT Großschönau entitled "The Powerchangers" takes you into the fascinating world of renewable electricity: from sustainable energy generation from renewable energy sources to efficient use in the home and mobility. Electricity is incredibly versatile and is part of our daily lives, around the clock! But what happens in the event of a blackout? How can electricity be generated from renewable sources? Windix, Arborix, Solarix and Aqua point the way to an electrifying future and provide answers to all these questions!
