Stadtpfarrkirche Poysdorf
Church
Description
The parish church in Poysdorf is a highly visible Roman Catholic church with the patron saint John the Baptist, which stands on a prominent church hill in the north of the town and dominates the historic center. It was built in the early Baroque style in the 17th century and consecrated in 1640. The tower with cupola dates from 1864. The building belongs to the Archdiocese of Vienna and is surrounded by the remains of the former churchyard wall. Inside, the high three-bay nave with vaulted ceilings conveys a clear, calm atmosphere.
