The Ghega-Semmeringbahn is probably the best-known section of the old Southern Railway from Vienna to Trieste. In Mürzzuschlag, the cultural-historical railroad experience Südbahn Museum was created directly at the station. Mürzzuschlag is one of the oldest railroad towns in Austria due to the construction of the railroad to Graz in 1844. Characterized by its rich railroad history, Mürzzuschlag lies on a central section of the Southern Railway, the Semmering Railway. The Semmering railway is a UNESCO World Hertige site and is one of the most important cultural treasures in the world. The roundhouse has been adapted as an additional exhibition space.
