Wachau Naturgarten

Outdoor adventure

Description

Where else but in the beautiful Wachau region can you find the Fechter family's apricot garden? On the right bank of the Danube, in Bacharnsdorf, gardening enthusiasts head to the right of the soccer pitch to reach this wonderful paradise. In the Wachau Nature Garden, the Fechter family has made it their mission to preserve the old Wachau apricot varieties. Mr. Fechter cultivates his trees himself, propagating them from his own old trees in order to preserve the best fruit quality of the Wachau apricot. "We enjoy quality and enjoyment, and you can see that in our products," says Hermann Fechter. The sun-ripened apricots form the basis for high-quality products from the small family business, which are available to buy in the online store all year round.

"We cultivate and care for our garden without using artificial fertilizers or spraying pesticides, we mulch the garden, follow Maria Thun's experiences and let nature take its course. Flowers and herbs are allowed to grow here and our garden residents love to visit them," says Hermann Fechter. And visitors can also experience this when emerald lizards and sand lizards warm themselves in the sun, butterflies flutter across the meadow or wild bees buzz in the beneficial insect hotel.
