High up on the Eibl, you can hear children laughing and smacking their lips with satisfaction: While the little ones are in the petting zoo, the grown-ups enjoy homemade organic delicacies from the Tröstl family. You don't know which is better: the food or the view?
Hiking with the baby carriage
At the summit of the Eibl at 1,000 m above sea level is the Teichhütte, which was rebuilt in 2011 after a fire. The ascent is family-friendly: you can reach it in just 1.5 hours via a hiking trail suitable for baby carriages. At the top, a large playground and a petting zoo with goats, cats and rabbits await children of all ages.
Home-made tastes best
Almost all the products at the Eibl Teichhütte come from our own organic farm: the typical farmhouse smoked meats and bacon, the meat from the Charolais cattle that graze on the lush alpine pastures of the Eibl, as well as the ingredients for the homemade farmhouse bread and pastries come from our own or regional production. And you can taste it in every bite.
Where families celebrate
The Teichhütte can accommodate up to 30 people in a dormitory and two rooms with 4 beds each. The hut is perfect for family or birthday parties and is a popular starting point for ski tours or tobogganing afternoons in winter.
Opening hours:
May 1 - October 26: Monday and Tuesday closed (except public holidays);
November - April: open from Thursday to Sunday as well as Christmas vacations and daily if there is sufficient snow.
