Old Swede

The community of Thaua is crossed by the hiking route "Alter Schwede" on its tour from Großhaselbach via Reinsbach on the way to the Schwedenkreuz. Due to the low gradient and the pleasant duration of about two and a half hours it is also a family-friendly route, which accompanies nature lovers for a while through the beautiful Waldviertel.

Town of Allentsteig

The centre of Allentsteig is a good half hour's walk from the station. In addition to the town's own bathing lake with boat rental and lake stage, the town also offers plenty of recreational entertainment for visitors interested in history with the Aussiedler Museum, the Owl Museum in the Wolfganghof and the impressive walls of Allentsteig Castle.
