Baumpresse Gedersdorf

At the fork of Holzgasse and Leithenweg at the foot of the Gedersdorf vineyard stands a tree press dating back to 1883. When the vault of the Wögerer family's wine cellar (formerly Wagensonner) in the Weitgasse wine cellar lane collapsed at the end of the 1980s, the press house was also damaged and rendered unusable. Committed winegrowers from the community moved the tree press, which was provided by the Wögerer family from Haitzendorf, to its current location, reassembled it and thus left a piece of the old winegrowing tradition for posterity.
