Biokäserei Roland Berger
Farm shops / producerDescription
The Roland Berger organic cheese dairy is a Wachau cheese manufactory that has been processing exclusively sheep, goat and cow's milk from organic farming since 1997, specializing in the production of cheese specialities such as Gouda, Camembert, red cultures and many more.
The cheese maturing process is completed in a 300-year-old brick-vaulted cellar, the original purpose of which has been lost in the darkness of history. The tasting room can accommodate up to 50 people and is, of course, barrier-free and handicapped accessible. Tastings usually take place in groups.
As a fixed date especially for our vacation guests in the Wachau region, I also offer tastings with wine accompaniment for individuals every Friday. The participants are then combined into a group. This will most likely lead to interesting and amusing tastings. Advance booking is required so that the resulting group remains manageable.
As a cheese sommelier, it is particularly important to me to teach visitors everything they need to know about the correct handling and interesting facts about cheese at a high level. You should allow about 2 hours for this. Cheese from our own production is tasted, optionally with matching top wines from the Wachau. In addition to cheese, you can also purchase various brandies, such as apricot, plum and pear, as well as apple wine from our own vineyards.
Pre-registration: Visits, tastings, sales and shipping under 0664 73646615 or kontakt@biokaeserei-berger.at.
Tip: Tastings can be booked for groups of 10 people or more. On request, the cheese from our own production can be accompanied by top wines.
