Gerasdorf station is located in the municipality of the same name on the Laaer Ostbahn line in the Weinviertel region of Lower Austria. There is a glazed waiting area on the central platform of the multi-track station, which offers rail passengers a pleasant place to wait, sheltered from the wind and weather. There is also a ticket machine for purchasing tickets. Loudspeaker announcements and timetable displays on the platform provide information about current train services.
The Park & Ride facility offers 75 parking spaces for cars and mopeds, making it easy to change to public transport by train. Parking spaces for almost 30 bicycles have been set up in the covered Bike & Ride station.
Line connections
- Trains on the Vienna S7 rapid transit line run here in the direction of Laa an der Thaya via Wolkersdorf im Weinviertel and Wolfsthal as well as to the station at Vienna Airport.
- Trains on the Vienna S2 rapid transit line run to Mistelbach and Mödling.
- There are also buses to Süßenbrunner Platz in Vienna and to the center of Gerasdorf.
Exploration tour
The town center of the municipality can be reached in around 15 minutes on foot from Gerasdorf train station. Leisurely paths invite you to stroll and wander around, and the parish church of St. Peter and Paul, built right in the center, is also worth a visit.
If you head further north, the idyllic Gerasdorf bathing pond is around 15 minutes' walk away. The clean, well-maintained pond is lined with comfortable sunbathing lawns, a children's playground and a specially cordoned-off toddler area by the lake round off the amenities on offer for families. Cute ground squirrels, the actual inhabitants of the leisure facility, can often be spotted.
