Hessendorf train station

Train station

Description

The station in Hessendorf is one of the 10 stations of the local railway Retz - Drosendorf. Since the discontinuation of passenger traffic on the northern railway line in 2001, the seasonally operated Reblaus Express can be used to travel the varied route and thus explore the area with the transition from the Weinviertel to the Waldviertel.

The station Hessendorf is located in the middle of the line and the nature spoiled surroundings. It can be reached at the scheduled times, but a look at current offers and packages of the Reblaus Express is always worthwhile.

Get off the train and immerse yourself in the beautiful landscape

The small valley basin gives way to the ponds of the angler's paradise away from the roads. Surrounded by woods, 4 spacious fish ponds blend into the landscape, in 2 of which you will find trout & char. The other two are home to carp, tench, catfish, pike-perch and pike. The Lower Austrian fishing card is not required to use the ponds.

The fish caught in the angler's paradise can be processed and tasted after purchase at one of the barbecue areas set up. If you are not so lucky, you can enjoy the wonderful ambience and the seasonal delicacies in the local restaurant - with a view of the ponds, of course.

With a rental fishing rod and the support of the professionals on site, you will not only spend a unique holiday, it could also be the start of a passionate hobby.
