Hessendorf train station
Train stationDescription
The station in Hessendorf is one of the 10 stations on the Retz - Drosendorf local line. Since the discontinuation of passenger services on the Nordbahn line in 2001, the seasonal Reblaus Express can be used to travel along the varied route and explore the area with the transition from the Weinviertel to the Waldviertel.
The Hessendorf station is located in the middle of the route and the natural surroundings. It can be reached at scheduled times, but it is always worth taking a look at the current offers and packages of the Reblaus Express.
Get off and immerse yourself in the beautiful landscape
Away from the roads, the small valley basin reveals the pond complex of the fishing paradise. Surrounded by forests, 4 large fishing ponds blend into the landscape, 2 of which are home to trout and char. The other two are home to carp, tench, catfish, zander and pike. A Lower Austrian fishing license is not required to use the ponds.
The fish caught in the fishing paradise can be processed and eaten at one of the barbecue areas after purchase. Those who are less fortunate can enjoy the fantastic ambience and seasonal delicacies in the on-site restaurant - with a view of the ponds, of course.
With a rental fishing rod and support from the professionals on site, you will not only spend a unique day on vacation, it could also be the start of a passionate hobby.
