Worth seeing
The Horn municipal museum is just a 15-minute walk from the station. The archaeological museum permanently displays finds by the prehistoric researcher Prof. Josef Höbarth as well as the agricultural collection of Ernst Mader in a specially designed barn hall. Exciting special exhibitions promise varied knowledge in an attractively designed space.
The history
There were actually plans to connect the Horn train station to the Franz Josefs Bahn line, but this was never realized due to objections from the local population. It was only when the economic upswing was recognized due to the obvious enrichment along other railroad lines that efforts were made to connect Horn to the railroad. In the end, a connection was created during the construction of the Kamptalbahn. When in the 1980s there was repeated talk of shutting down the Kamptal line and thus also closing passenger services, this was fortunately successfully prevented - also thanks to the efforts of the local population.
