Korneuburg train station

Train station

Description

The station building, which was built in 1975, was converted and revitalised in 2015 during a construction period of 2.5 years. Today, the modern, glazed station in Korneuburg allows barrier-free access to the completely refurbished platforms - access to the trains is level. The station can be reached by regional trains and Vienna's rapid transit lines directly via the S-Bahn main line.

Thanks to the covered Bike & Ride facility, bicycles and scooters are in good hands, as are parked cars in the Park & Ride building, which has been extended to the Justice Center. The environmentally optimised station facility meets customer-friendly design and rounds off the comfort offer with 3 passenger lifts.

Change trains

In Korneuburg you change to the flagship of the DDSG Blue to make your way along the Danube to the Wachau. Here, the way is clearly declared to be the destination, on which you will be served as well as pampered with regional delicacies.

History

In 1979 the electrification of the railway line took place, in the same year a central signal box was put into operation in Korneuburg. As the line of the S3 and S4 was operated on the right for historical reasons, it was not possible to switch to left-hand operation until a crossing system was put into operation in Floridsdorf.

Tip: There is a nextbike rental station directly at the station. The bikes are available in Lower Austria from April to mid-November. You can find more information on the website https://www.nextbike.at/de/niederoesterreich/, or in the nextbike app.
