The history

Until 1988, the Pulkautalbahn line ran between Kottingneusiedl and Laa an der Thaya - a Weinviertel branch line from Novosedly to Zellerndorf, which was part of the main railway network of the Kaiser Ferdinand Nordbahn. The line was built in 1873 and completed within a few months, but was partially closed in 1930 due to the low volume of traffic. The line from Laa an der Thaya to Pernhofen-Wulzeshofen station is still used for freight traffic today.
