Langenlois train station
Train stationDescription
Langenlois station is located on the Kamptal railway line. The large station building in the south-eastern Waldviertel has two main tracks and several side tracks.
Regional trains to Horn and St. Pölten are connected to the station, as are the Wieselbus line-E and the PostBus bus company.
Rail travel by bike
If you are taking the train by bike, get off in Langenlois and head for the Kamp Valley ("Kamptal") cycle path. The approximately 115.5-kilometre cycle path is a branch of the Danube cycle path and leads from Altenwörth in the district of Tulln through the Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German) to the town of Horn. The mostly asphalted cycle path runs through the wine-growing villages of the lower Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German) in Langenlois and offers numerous viewing highlights along the entire route, such as Rosenburg Castle, the Ottenstein reservoir and Altenburg Abbey.
Loisium
During a visit to the wine town of Langenlois, a stop at the Loisium is almost a must. In addition to the extensive selection of wines in the store, the world of winegrowing is presented in the form of the enchantingly designed vineyard path and the wine underworld in the cellar vault for entertaining entertainment and promises to be an unforgettable experience.
The history
With the construction of the Kamptalbahn railway line, the region along the Kamp experienced an economic boom. Last but not least, the easier transportation options made it easier to transport agricultural produce to Vienna. The trend towards summer retreats in nature-spoiled landscapes also developed, as city dwellers increasingly enjoyed the opportunities for relaxation and recreation in rural areas.
